A postmortem account of Silver Water, Inc.'s breakthrough communication with sperm whales and the tragic events that transpired off the coast of Baja California Sur in August 2022...
On a humorous note, July's story is going to be very, very short. It going to set an unbreakable record for 100 Stories "shortest story" award. As things edge towards War & Peace here, really short is starting to look great, and I have a short film screenplay that needs to get written like yesterday.
The media, the uncanny similarities of what is happening right now . Headlining the wrong part of the story. Attracting all the wrong attention. The idiocy of humans, trying to communicate using language from the wrong species.
“There are a lot of whales in the ocean.”
And here comes the cages.
“…flirting with the idea of a soft boundary geofence.” Humans…
Here I am in part V. Your story has gone from an extremely detailed mystery, trying to fit the pieces of the puzzle together, to a much deeper, more ominous understanding.
This is exactly how I’m feeling right about now,
a “…mix of grief, rage and despair.”
I am stunned into silence Adam. This story , like the waters that surround it, is ever changing , ‘the seas are becoming rough and the storm is fast approaching.’ Where will you take me from here? ‘Silver waters’ , Eona ! Moby…Heart wrenching.
Ohhhhhhh, dear Gaia, I did not see Eona’s lesson coming. I’m blown away by the artistry of this storytelling. Yet at the same time I’m cheering Ishmael’s rejoining the coral, I’m terrified what Muck’s (and our) hubris will unleash. It’s too late for us, isn’t it?
Adam this is really great and so on the nose with how America seems driven by media manipulation and corporate interests protected by swarms of lawyers. The beauty of the premise and the promise of a new understanding blooming ... all tainted by the malevolence of material gain and individual greed for power. normally i crave a dark and realsitic ending for a story not for this one.
The love-blue ice, Ishmael’s privileged glimpse into the origin of our kind, a time when we didn’t know sand or stone, my god I felt at once ecstatic and so so so much sorrow.
This story is a masterpiece. It’s sending me reeling.
It is a truly wonderful read. Emotionally charged as it all unfolds.

Eona’s intelligence far surpasses .

Depressingly true, really.
Yes, all this
“That is false” might be the best footnote ever.
Wow this was an intense read. Really excellent work.
Thanks, Rae! Hey, there are still two more parts to this. it's a little confusing because it says 5 parts originally, but then I needed 7.

“Dear Gaia” is right.
A good time to strive for the “shortest story award”, 🏆especially after all the time you have put into this one.
Just damn. What are crescendo of an ending!
This story is a masterpiece. Thank you for writing this Adam!

The bow broke, the cradle fell.
Oh my god my heart hurts.

Devastating!
