Exhilarating to see a familiar sound described with such evocative precision. Muddy Waters must have played this song when I heard him live at a club in Toronto in 1971. I wish I could replay that night.
Ok. Last thing. I have a movie poster of it on my office wall that I got when I was 16 from a movie theater in Damariscotta, ME. I asked them and they gave it to me. I couldn’t believe my good luck. That movie was like a religion for me. 😊
My dad took me to see The Last Waltz 3 different times when it first came out, and that "sound" you described was always my favorite moment. Loved this description.
Ok, so history repeats itself. My daughter, 21, growing up was my musical mentee (although that dynamic is shifting fast right now). This morning she sent me completely unrelated to this or anything else a link to Up on Cripple Creek. Oh, ho, ho, happy dad.
And good for you and your dad. He knew what he was doing. Here’s to Dads. 😂

I envy you! There is zero chance he didn’t or he would have had a very unhappy crowd. 😊
Amazing! Sometimes these things just get into the ether. And yes a toast to Dads! Mine especially loved that movie.

Thanks for adding these. An oversight!
Loved this one!
So great, all of it. The name of the band, the title of the movie and all those guys.
