Beautiful, Adam. You awakened the memory of a similar moment during a long hike in the Dordogne, perched on a stone wall overlooking the chateau where Josephine Baker once lived. The cheese we ate was runny from bouncing around in the pack on a hot day. The rocks warmed our bare legs. We couldn’t repeat that hike today, even if we could find the place. In our mid-70s, we don’t have the knees or the stamina. But the memory still plays in my mind and my senses.
One of my favorite meditation vids on Youtube is White Noise Black Screen - it sounds like sitting in front of Niagara Falls, and feels like its washing the whole world off of you. I think it's the feeling you just described, sitting there, thinking about the Camino and walking.
That's a real fine bit of living, Adam. Both the waking and the writing. Went down like cool water from the well.
Thanks, Tommy.
Love this line - "the journey is the destination, that there’s nothing to get to." A call to be present.

Love this. I can feel the peace in me from there. Transported by words.
