“Tears brimmed in both of their eyes – for entirely different reasons.” This line got me.

And then the ball on its own path and the three- legged dog. I’m hooked.

I’m behind but looking forward to catching up.

I love to hear that. I’ve missed you. If at some point you catch up, and my fingers are crossed, you will learn about that three/legged dog, a huge character in this. He was introduced properly today. A spoiler: his name is Tripod. ⚾️

And…. Welcome to Substack. It’s great to see your work here. Little by little (or fast) you’ll find your audience. Just wait.

Thanks, Adam. It’s been a pleasure (stressful pleasure) but I’m happy with how it’s unfolding. It has one of my favorite characters I’ve written coming soon… But a new job and this and December’s story!!!!! Have their own little stresses. (Read: ‘overwhelmed’)

I have no idea what comes next, but I love it!

BTW, for some reason, your post did not show up in my email. I only knew you posted it because I saw that you put it in Notes. I just checked again and it still did not show up.

Hmmm. Not sure why that would be. I have two test mails I subscribe to. Both arrived as usual. Did you check junk mail?

Glad to have Reginald’s tragic opening sneaking back toward my heart. I have two hours of nothing but reading so I’m prepared for the gates to throw themselves open.

Btw - the algorithm only looks at restacks, not likes, it's a very limited and odd metric, but that's what it is at the moment.

😢 It’s probably too much to shake my little beggar’s cup for restacks. Even so, the likes are appreciated. Most of my daily Endorphin Minimal Requirement comes from them. Are you enjoying it?

I always hit the ❤️ so that writers know I've dropped by.

Restacks on Notes is such an awful metric for Substack, mimic of the worst kind of social media, the whole 'viral' concept. It's a bad look. Maybe they'll improve it one day.

Indeed, I'm enjoying. I'm looking forward to seeing where we're heading. 😁
