I’m hoping the rest of your writing lives up to this one, and surely it will, because you were playing MY current .four bars here. The song of my people. I loved it. If I wrote this I would say, “I don’t know, I was in the zone, man.” 9 out of 10 would read some more. /Clicks Subscribe/

What a great note! Thank you, Niall. This is a 10 out of 10 acknowledgment. “Hey, honey, let me read you something from the site.”

If we kept a nickel jar for self deprecation here on Substack, Adam, my friend you would be a wealthy man. I could definitely relate to this one. I’ve played more than my share of weddings.

🪙 🪙🪙🪙🪙 <-- Apple informs me that that is a nickel. I stacked this just now because the incredible singer from the band just showed up on Substack. She can correct all of the details, but if she removes the self-deprecation this piece is going to be getting pretty thin. 🎸

This nearly word for word describes my first adventures at church band rehearsals and performances. Except the happy ending part of the story....

It did get better though...

I think we’re in good company, Michael. Lots of humility and fumbling and then, every once in awhile, killing it.

Absolutely true! We had members playing for free and pros on instruments we didn’t have players for. Regardless of faith (or not) - great place to start out. Everyone was very... forgiving....

Thanks for the memories and the giggles!!

Again and again, Adam, you make me grateful that there are words.

You turn them into magic.

Grateful.
