Instead of posting the final part of this as a serialized entry, I’m linking here to the full story for the conclusion. Context is exceptionally critical to this piece, as is the voice and the accumulating logic of the narrator’s version of events.
For those who’ve been following along through Parts 1 and 2, the final section begins under the chapter heading “UM.” The full-length version includes some fairly significant revisions to earlier chapters, but the overall arc remains consistent if you’ve already read the earlier version.
