Thanks, Eleanor. I'm glad it connected. Thanks for your support on this journey right up to the warm notes shared yesterday and again this morning. I'm standing my full 5'9".
Awww, so glad. I was a bit behind but always a treat when I got to binge a couple at a time! Absolutely brilliant you’re sharing the whole … novel is it? at once.
Thank you, Adam...this story, and these endearing characters, has been a true bright spot for me! I've enjoyed every word. And I'm so happy that she played 'the pitch' for him on her AM radio. Sad to see it all end, but I'm happy for Reginald, Phineas, and U.U.
First, I must tell you how much I enjoyed listening. I was doing my evening work out, hiking up and down a steep hill , multiple times. I decided to bring ‘you’ with me, and of course, the rest of the gang from What Cheer. Listening, brought me closer to the story.
“Ping-ponged to the left… Shimmied high and shrugged low...” Straight from her old metal heart. U.U. , she really is the magical True North of The Knuckleball Artist. Heroine , home, and the highest IQ of any vehicle ever built . “Sweet dreams, Ú.Ú.” (I did get a little choked up).
And far from being a mere coincidence, as I walked up and down the steep hill through the woods, over and over again, while listening, I stared at that V.W. Beetle, forever parked under the pines. Wondering, on a starry night , under a crescent moon, perhaps the radio still plays for those who are worthy . Moonlight Serenade?
🧢’s off to you, Adam. It has been an amazing ride!
Wonderful 👏

“Sweet dreams, Ú.Ú.” This and that final line. And the B landing in the tulip. Damn, Adam. Way to bring this home. So so good.
And of course you are an amazing reader!
Thanks for your kind words and enthusiasm for TKA this whole time. They were always wonderful to read, and I tracked you by chapter. :-)

Thanks for being a front seat passenger.
Oh god!!!!!!! A final sentence to end all final sentences. I choked on it, then swallowed it down whole. Grateful.
Thanks, Kimberly. It’s rewarding to hear something you hope works did. Thanks for joining me on this “short story.” 🙏⚾️
