Love the nicknames. I haven't read London in a long time, but always enjoyed his stories. And writing.

I can’t wait to share it. I recently reread call of the wild and white fang and was surprised at the writing. Thanks for your note.

Great! Really loved his ‘pirate’ life and the oyster beds of SanFran bay stories. Lived in SF for years and that’s when I started reading him. What an adventurer. Did a deep dive into his life (incredible, sad, and so generous he was) and went to Jack London State Park in Glen Ellen where the remnants of Wolf House are. Super sad. But fell in love with his writing. And his larger than life persona.

there's a scene in White Fang of two dogs fighting that's one of the best things I've read in the last few years. Huge personality, but I wish i knew more about him. I think of him kind of like a pre-Hemingway adventurer, every move a push all of your chips into the center of the table.

I read he was the first superstar. A John Lennon of his time fame-wise. Reason being his Saturday Evening Post serialization on The Call of the Wild. The public went bonkers. My husband’s a native San Franciscan, 3rd generation and his paternal grandfather was a crab fisherman, the sea connection, so we both really got into London for a while. I’ll have to dig out White Fang and find that passage. If memory serves, I think I liked it better than Wild.

I’d like to hear the backstory/research phase of this one.
