🙏 Spring 2023 "Share Drive" 😘
This will sound like an NPR fund-raising drive. It is. It's my first quarterly pitch for social media shares. For my hard core readers - 3-5X per month: this is your moment to shine.
🙏 The Ask
First of all, thank you for reading my work and allowing me into your inbox. Attention is a precious commodity. Thank you for sharing yours with me. You definitely need to clean your inbox out, btw.
Just like NPR, but much better than Wikipedia, there will be one random small gift of appreciation. 3 Substack Gift subscriptions to my favorite writers, but mostly I have my digital hand out.
🏁 I’ve snuck new content into the Posts section below. Otherwise this week is the “Share Drive.”
How to Do It & “Tell Them What They Get:”
😙 Share a single post from my work this quarter.
🤛🏻 Facebook is by far the most powerful share - add a sentence from you. Sample recommendation text at bottom.
👉🏻 Every article from the quarter is listed below. Click through on the one you like, go to that page, and then share from there directly.
🤪 See “Fun Facts” about this site - subscriber counts! - and “Mad Lib” sample recommendation text all the way at the bottom to get you started.
🤩 🤩 🤩 🤩
There’s a gift! If you have shared, add your name to the comments.
I’m giving one paid gift subscription to three of my favorite Substack writers.
If you are not comfortable sharing, for whatever reason, then ho-ho-ho, I ask that you start hitting the Like button furiously from this moment forward.

How to Share with Substack
After clicking the arrow at upper right, you should see the following menu
🛑 Substack doesn’t always work because of pop-up blockers!!!! If you are not seeing the menu above, you can use your email per directions below or copy and paste the URL into Facebook. Facebook will figure it out from there. It’s magical.
If you are viewing an article on the Substack application, you will see the share buttons at the bottom of your screen.
The sharing options on your mobile will vary. You can take it from there. If you are viewing in email you will see options at the bottom of your email.
🤪 A Mad Lib for the Truly Uninspired
Here is a "mad lib" to make a recommendation as easy as possible:
"I've <discovered/known> Adam since <he was 6/am related to him/this morning>.
He’s a <really flattering adjective/meh> writer who posts a few times a week about <music/walking the Camino de Santiago/AI nightmares> and many other things.
His <essays/posts/stories> are <2 or 3 even more flattering adjectives/let it rip here>.
He reminds me of <your favorite author of all time/a writer he actually reminds you of>.
I thought I'd share one of them with you. <a link to a post here>.
And that’s it. Voilà.
